A heaven in the woods of Bali, nestled among lush green trees and clove plantations, Gitgit waterfalls is one of the most popular waterfalls in Bali. The falls are located in Gitgit Village in the Sukasada District, around 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from Singaraja, 26 kilometres (16 mi) from Munduk and 83 kilometres (52 mi) from Denpasar‘s Ngurah Rai International Airport. Being in this place was quite nostalgic and we spent time by taking a dip and swam to chill out here.

The one with the highest altitude, we could find Nungnung Waterfall up in the mountains of central Bali, at around 900 meters above sea level. The drive just to get there is a pleasant part of the experience, with expanses of rice fields and lush plantations accompanying your ride. This waterfall is also known as a virgin waterfall and not many visitors travel here.

Sekumpul Waterfall is actually a cluster of 6 to 7 narrow cascades in the namesake village of Sekumpul in North Bali. They’re a cool centerpiece set among a lush green framing of bamboo forests. Discovering the falls, we went ahead for an adventurous hike. The route to get there comprises dirt tracks, a hundred or so steps and some crossings over streams. This was one heck of a journey but it was the most memorable one.The guide were warm and we were enthralled to see the waterfall in full of its glory.

Tegenungan Waterfall is not situated in the mountains, which is quite rare for waterfalls in Bali, but actually in Ubud village. Like many others, it still boasts beautiful lush greenery all around and the natural springs are perfect for bathing. The waters look clayish and the water force is super strong. When the sun shines on it that’s when the true beauty of this place is seen. It is a popular waterfall for good reason and was worth the visit on our Bali trip.

The natural water slide, refreshing plunge pool, verdant surrounding and shower like spray beneath the falls, make the entire valley look stunning and picturesque. Seeing this beautiful waterfall, our adrenalin got pumping. Picturesque and lively we were transported back in time in seeing the magnificent wonder of nature.

Munduk Waterfalls also known as “The Niagara waterfalls of Bali” is a jaw-dropping spectacle with its twin lakes. With clove plantations, rice fields and the backdrop of Bali’s beautiful mountains all around, Munduk waterfall is a great place where we could find some inner peace.

Head to Blahmantung Waterfall, nestled within the lush and undulating region of Tabanan, home to coffee plantations and rice fields for as far as the eye can see. One of Bali’s hidden treasures, this gorgeous waterfall is surrounded by beautiful green rainforest and is a good 800 meter walk to get there. At fifty meters high, it is a giant, and what’s more, you can jump into the plunge pool below and enjoy one of Mother Nature’s beauties.
